Francotyp-Postalia, a leader in the Belgian market for franking machines, is launching a new line of franking machines in the form of Digital Postage Mark (DPM) imprint. DPM is the new technology that is strongly recommended by the Post Office for handling letters even more quickly and automatically.
The use of a franking machine has already proven cost-effective for any company mailing 7 or more letters per day.
DPM with new blue imprint
DPM is the name for the printing plates in the latest generation of stamping machines, which involves a new franking system specially designed to combat fraud. The features of DPM imprints are their blue colour print and 2D Datamatrix containing the sender’s personalised, encoded data. The DPM stamping machine prints not only the date and value but also a barcode and a serial number on postal items. This additional information enables the Post Office to handle letters more quickly and more efficiently.
The Post Office strongly recommends DPM technology and foresees that it will become the norm for franking in the future. For the moment, no decision has been taken as to when DPM franking technology will become mandatory in Belgium.
The benefits of a franking machine
It has been proven cost-effective to use a stamping machine starting from just 7 letters per day.The franking machine is a cost-effective alternative for companies that send out a relatively high number of items, or those that do not want to waste time going to the Post Office to buy stamps. The use of a franking machine offers very clear financial benefits:a more favourable rate for franking, time savings and accurate franking.Furthermore, your mail will have a more professional and more personalised appearance.
Davy Stevens, Head of Branch at Francotyp-Postalia N.V./S.A., explains:"At the moment, only 17,500 Belgian companies (less than 2%) use a franking machine, although, as a general rule, investment in a franking machine works out at only €1 per day.On the other hand, you benefit as a company by saving time and getting a favourable rate.In our day-to-day sales contacts, we see that there are very few companies that understand these benefits. The market clearly offers us a lot of potential.”
Francotyp-Postalia N.V./S.A. is located in Zaventem and the parent company in Birkenwerder/Brandenburg (Germany).A leader in the Belgian and international markets for franking machines and folder inserters, the company offers you a top-quality service.Francotyp-Postalia Holding (FP) is quoted on the German stock exchange, with subsidiaries in Belgium, Italy, Austria, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and the Netherlands.Francotyp is represented by distributors in several other countries.
