Expansive Growth Potential in the Mail Market

In what are essentially stable mail markets, the defining factors for the FP Group’s strategy are globalization, industrialization, technology advances and the legislative environment.

Globalization and increasing networking by companies, as well as the industrialization of emerging markets, are resulting in new market opportunities - and thus tremendous potential for the mail market as a whole. A brief comparison illustrates this: in the US around 666 letters per head of population are sent every year. At present, this figure for China is just 16 [[graphics]]. Here, too, mail volumes are expected to rise, placing greater demands on professional state-of-the-art processing.

Continuing advances in technology and tougher requirements regarding the security of data transfer are leading to changed ways of thinking about how to process mail. There is a clear trend towards the simultaneous use of several different mail processing methods. Software solutions, including digitalizing the whole mail production process, are starting to predominate.

New legislation is also placing tighter security requirements on the mail market, leading to changes. At the same time, increasing liberalization of mail markets means enormous opportunities for growth.

Germany is at the forefront of this development in Europe. Here, the mail market was completely liberalized at the beginning of 2008 [[link to history]]. As a result, the monopoly for mail services once held by the Deutsche Post has ended, allowing other participants in. The FP Group positioned itself in this market as a solutions provider early. With its new products such as consolidation, customers can now benefit substantially from the newly freed market.
